Twyford Today
Twyford today is in the Royal County of Berkshire and has a population of over 7,000 people. Although a town, it is still known by the locals as a village.
Transport
Twyford is situated just 10 miles from the M4, M40 and M3 motorways and 25 miles from the M25.
The town of Reading is only 6 miles to the west, Maidenhead 8 miles to the east and Henley-on-Thames 5 miles to the north. London is 35 miles to the east.Twyford railway station is on the Great Western Main Line and served by trains between Reading and London Paddington stations. These transport links make Twyford extremely popular with commuters. Typical train times are 50 minutes to London, 7 minutes to Reading and 12 minutes to Henley. During peak periods there are a few fast trains to and from London taking between 20 and 30 minutes. With the building of the new bridge in 2009 all platforms now have wheelchair access. There is also undercover cycle storage on platform 4/5.
There is also a good local bus service in the village going to Reading and Maidenhead which takes approximately 30 minutes to each location.
Twyford Parking
There is a long stay public pay and display car park in Polehampton Close with 39 bays and there are also 324 parking spaces at the Station car park, which is either pay and display or permit parking.

There is a manned refuse vehicle for the use of residents, which can be used to dispose of anything that will fit into your car, except fridges/freezers, televisions/computer monitors, and strip lights.
